The Middle Ground Between Light and Shadow

Dying in a car, or rather fighting to stay alive, requires focus and balance. Strung between asphalt and tree line, mangled fender and hewn elm trunk, paint chips, and woodchips. And the windshield and door glass smashed into slivers and dust glittering in the beam of the single remaining headlight reflecting from the leaves that hang over the wreck like bystanders unable to look away.
